FAQ

Questions, answered.

The things riders ask us most. Anything else, call either shop and ask a mechanic.

How do I know what type of bike to buy?

Come in and ride a few. We’ll explain the differences between styles and set up test rides. Think about where you’ll ride, how often and your budget. Plenty of riders end up with more than one bike for different jobs.

Aluminum, steel, carbon, titanium: which frame material is best?

Each makes great bikes. Steel is classic and repairable, aluminum is light and affordable, carbon is high-tech and pricier, and titanium usually costs the most. What matters most is a bike that fits, rides and handles the way you like, at a price that works.

What size bike should I get?

Sizing varies by brand, so the best approach is to visit. We’ll check that you can get on and off comfortably, that the saddle height suits your pedalling and that the reach to the bars fits your torso and riding style, then fine-tune the seat and handlebars.

Do you service E-Bikes?

Yes. Every tune-up package is available for E-Bikes, at $50 more than the pedal-bike rate. Our Palm Harbor store specializes in electric bikes.

Do new bikes come with tune-ups?

Yes. Bikes bought from us come with complimentary Bronze tune-ups. Ask in store for the details on your bike.

What’s the best way to prevent bike theft?

Lock it, every time, even at home. Most stolen bikes weren’t locked. Use a quality lock through the frame and both wheels, since quick-release wheels are easy to take. A cable around a post alone isn’t enough.

What type of bike lights are best?

For occasional evening rides on lit streets, a clip-on headlight and rear flasher (about $25–$50) is plenty. Riding often after dark or off-road calls for a rechargeable system ($50–$400+) with more power and battery life. Tell us how and where you ride and we’ll match the light.

Do you run guided tours?

Yes. Gregg leads guided rides from either shop: 2 hours ($30), a half day ($40) or a full day ($60) per person, at your group’s pace. Call him at (727) 992-6304 to pick a date.

Are you open on Sundays?

No. Both shops are open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, and closed on Sunday.
